Kids in the Garden

A class from our onsite daycare has adopted the radishes and a row of beans. Following is an e-mail from one of our garden volunteers and mom:

This morning the kids planted the green beans and radishes. They did a great job and had a lot of fun. They also had fun rolling down the big hill! The beans worked really well because the seeds were bigger and they did the "poke and pat" method -- although that's probably not official gardening terms...it worked well for the children!

Halfway Through the Planting

Thanks to all of the Adopt-a-Crop volunteers we're well on our way to having the garden planted.  Just waiting for that last chance of frost and for the soil to warm up more before putting in the tomatoes, eggplant, melons, and few more other veggies.

Kennebec, Russet and Red

Yup, the potatoes are planted and this year, thanks to the Blue Spud Team, we have three different varieties Kennebec, russet, and red.  Perfect for baking, frying, and boiling.

New Community Garden in Burnsville, MN

Community Garden Plots

International Outreach Church(IOC) has established a community garden this year and there are still available plots!
20’ x 15’ plots for residents of Burnsville and surrounding metro suburbs.


Located at IOC, 1512 Woodhill Road, Burnsville, MN 55337
Available for use May 1st through October 23rd
$35.00 per plot
Gardeners are expected to supply their own gardening tools as well as buckets for hauling water to your plot. A water spigot is provided for all gardeners to utilize.
